Frightened Children
First I tried using microsoft paintbrush, and the result was not great. I don't blame paintbrush, but it certainly wasn't the approach that was going to work tonight. So heres a little ditty about polar bears eating children.
This is a game that two brothers came up with in order to feed their creative energy and force creative output. Each day, we will use a new page from a book to draw a theme or topic and assign it to one another with no limit to scope or medium.

NOTE: Apologies for the lame post. Just no time today, the pic was supposed to represent my feelings about Troy, but I kind of realized that I don't really have those feelings any more. so it"s just a bad post.

Humans Are Our Hope
This one screamed that it wanted to be a comic. I decided it would shed new light on alien abduction but this is as far as I've got so far. This is late but it's really not my fault... it took forever to upload and then wouldn't let me post. Ridiculous!
Jeremy your weapon is anything but that!

This worked out very well. I had the idea of twisting a children's book, having one character call the other a liar, or something to that extent, and found a nice resource for a limited selection of old golden books. I had to copy the screen to my clipboard, then paste it into paintbrush and save, because it just wouldn't paste into photoshop. Good old paintbrush. I'll have to repay the favor by submitting a paint creation sometime. Anyway, I found this page in a book called "Words" and thought it was perfect. I was going to only change one of the items to lie, but then I found it too easy and couldn't stop myself 'til I'd ruined the whole page. Enjoy.
Adam, your next weapon is "Humans are our hope."

Feet (BIG)
Hey Fighters,
It's been a very busy, fun couple weeks for me. I've basically been on vacation for the last couple weeks. Today I thought it would be fun to draw Bigfoot... so I did. But it was kinda simple and lame so I randomly decided on a pose that I thought would be fun to draw. So here is Bigfoot on vacation doing a cannonball. Then I gave him a visor and swim trunks.
Jeremy,
Your weapon is LIE.

The Clock in the Belfry
When I went to look for pictures of a belfry, I came across an Edgar Allen Poe story I had never read called "The Devil in the Belfry". It is a very strange tale, I'm sure meant as a metaphor, but I liked some of the imagery, and thought I'd play, since my only other plan was to draw a clock tower. The story is full of mundane details, but it all falls to madness in the very end, and that is the moment I've chosen. I'm pleased with what I came up with considering I felt pretty uninspired on this one.
Adam, your weapon is feet.

She is not human
Silence, bloodtrail (sky and gate... can you spot them? :) )
He if you don't count sky and gate i'm quitting... not really. I did these all starting at 11 tonight. No excuses other than that I am yet again fighting the nothing in different ways and it's all Chante's fault. haha... it's ok because she doesn't follow our blog anyway... haha. She's reading this as I type.
The quality is really bad... of the drawings and the photo I took to upload them so I apologize.
Your weapon is The Clock in the Belfry.

She's Not Human
I have been inspired by our friends at Condensed Vibrations (Lemme know if there's a different link you guys would rather have posted) to do some comic art. Unfortunately this particular art form takes a little longer (normally) to do, so you won't see it from me as often as I might fancy. If you recall, both Adam and I have some unfinished business with sequential art already from this blog. I will return to my Gnomish story, which I have outlined, but not taken any further yet.
This time, I really wanted to do something more than just post a picture of a female robot, or monster, or alien. This little strip is compete as far as I'm concerned, this is as far as it need go. I like it and I had fun with it, and there should be a smoke cloud in the last panel from the corpse, but as you can see, I came in right at the wire as it was. I hope to do some more stuff like this in the future, and who knows, maybe after The Neverending Story Adam and I might have to do a little round-robin art ourselves...
Your weapon for tomorrow is "blood trail"
Adam, you still owe "They flew in silence" and now "She's not human", and unfortunately have to take two penalties as well. I know this isn't going to be easy for you because you have company coming in town.

Gmork
Fighters,
Roar... I'm Baaack! Just in time to head off to Branson tomorrow. Through all the fun and excitement I did manage to slam out my version of Gmork. At least I have good excuses and memories for my belated entries this time. I will try to find some where in branson to upload but I betting it'll be via iphone. Beam will follow shortly.
As you know... our word for today was beam.

Beam
Here are the photoshop altered version and the original version. The picture was taken with my phone, so it is not of the highest quality, and also i didn't really wait for the last strokes to finish drying. When I get close to posting, I tend to get hasty.
I had hoped this would turn out a little better, but I am glad that I went through with it anyway, because it has been too long since I did an inkwash piece and I used to be really with the medium. I'd like to get back there, but tonight was a humbling experience that told me how far yet I have to go. Hindsight being 20/20, the next piece I ink will utilize what I relearned too late for this one.
I look forward to Gmork, my brother, and beam, and your weapon for tomorrow: Rescue.

Miracle
I was inspired by your use of crayons, brother, and decided to do the same. This miracle just flowed forth from within me, proving that I am the chosen one who will defeat Voldemort. With a donkeycorn. Don't believe me? Is Voldemort still alive? Is he killing you? You're welcome.
Your weapon for tomorrow, assuming that you submit miracle on time tonight, will be Gmork. I know it is a very direct and specific topic, but I did warn you long ago that I would assign you Gmork one day and seeing as how he dies on this page, I thought the time was now. Let loose your dark arts, my brother, and show me the weapon of the nothing....

Vicious Circle
Fighters,Sorry for my late submissions. I am enjoying some good times and company here and haven't taken the time. However, tonight we were playing with crayons and the story changed. Jeremy and I have been talking about getting a brother tattoo for years now and we had talked about a getting a square knot. I thought tonight in honor of vicious circle, I decided to orosboros it! I like it as a rough... it obviously needs refinement... i am working in crayon.
Jeremy our new word is "Miracle".
Cheers.

Stop the Chain of Violence.
Fighters,
I'm getting on the road so this was pretty quick (All you fighters in KC I'll be headed in your direction... hit me up). I really don't like guns and gang violence is wack so i thought this up real quick with some ice i had laying around. I like this more for concept than execution but am happy enough to move on.
Jeremy,
I know you are at the lake... your weapon is escape. I hope we don't have the problems this time... at least I have my phone and you can call me. See ya!

I did not know what to do at all until Kelly suggested Mr. Owl. This is what happened after that. The pencil drawing is much more subtle, but my scanner ain't that great, and for whatever reason, has been showing shadows on my sketchbook pages recently, and I couldn't simply just adjust the brightness and contrasat to make it work.

Hunger
So, First I was going to take photographs for this one, since we had a wonderful chicken parmesan with angel-hair pasta tonight for dinner, but I don't feel like my face is really vampiric enough, and I'm certainly not gonna shave, so that was out, and then I was going to draw it, but I quickly decided that I didn't want to put myself through the torment of that, so I turned to the internet, and it was astonishingly hard to find the pictures I needed. Good ones anyway. So, I took what i could and worked on this while watching true blood season 3. It was fun, but I'm glad I'm done. yes, those are noodles, she is italian.
Adam, your weapon is Hallucinations. Have fun....

This is an octo-arch marooned on a desert island. Yes, I've been drinking, no I could not come up with anything better. Yes, the text is true. I took my love of crayola markers to crayola crayons, and used the skill level of the average crayon user. Yeahyeah!!!

TEMPEST
Fighters,
Hello again. I was kinda stuck with this one. In the book at this point Atreyu is riding Falcor to the borders of Fantasia when they encounter the four fighting wind giants (N,S,E,W). It is quite possibly my least favorite scene from the book and remember when I was younger reading it and saying to myself ... "well, that was pointless."
The point is, I had a little trouble getting inspired today. But I quite literally, decided to strip it down and throw paint at it. Throwing paint is fun. However, as the saying goes, if you don't use it you lose it, so after years of neglect, the pigment in my watercolors (liquid) has separated. I kinda like the way it looks. I definitely need to learn moderation... I got a little carried away.
Jeremy,
Atreyu is kinda marooned right now without Falcor... so lets go with marooned as your weapon.

TEMPEST
I produced this one in about five minutes, and although it's nothing special, it feels true to the purpose of this whole project, as an opening of the mind and a pouring out of art. I had no choice but to just go with the first instinct I had and whatever I thought would get the job done, which turned out to be a black crayola marker. I was briefly brought back to a time when I was so totally in love with those markers, and now I feel like I might have to give them another run sometime soon. The speed at which you can produce such opaque and wide lines is awesome, and much love to sharpies, but something just feels easier and more fluid about using the crayola marker. I'm going to tinker with my giant post some more now, because it still has the potential to be much better.

Wavelike
Fighters,
As you probably noticed there was no post from me yesterday... which means we've been doing this for two months now! As for me this is the 35th piece i've uploaded- not including those which were multiple pages or re-done. It's a pretty good feeling to have so much to show for the time we've put in to Fight the Nothing. Thanks for all the props from the rap I did! I'm half embarrassed but also very happy that has been received well. No record deal yet though.
For this piece I was thinking about doing something with the American Flag for the 4th but re-concepted and went for a nautical adventure setting with the squid's tentacles replacing the ocean waves- and being wavelike. I wanted a bit of color to make it pop. Let me know what you think.
Jeremy,
Hey! tomorrow's weapon is giant... which is also what she said.

Borders
This borders on non-art. This is an altered map of a minecraft world that I play in. In minecraft, if you've collected the right materials, you can produce a map of the discovered areas in the game so for. All I've done so far is to alter the map with photoshop and generalize and blur the edges of the differents areas of landscape, like ice, water, snow, sand, and grass. The black areas are some of the main buildings noticable on the map. The little circle on the top right is my home base. I plan on doing a little exploring and cartography for a little while longer tonight...

UPDATED
Space and Time
Space and Time
Fighters,
I decided to do a patch of sorts tonight for a mission through time and space. However, I wasn't happy with the results- the fist being a little weird and deformed. I also didn't want to go in a Dr. Who or Time Machine direction. So I settled on a more traditional space route, keeping the wormhole concept but injecting a shuttle and an element of time (the surrounding tick marks). I like it better now.

Ho
All I could think about was "fetch my long sword, ho!" but I decided that my idea, "beer me a long sword, ho" wasn't that good. By the way, searching google images for "ho", even with safesearch off, was really uninteresting, I was quite disappointed. Anywho, the next natural thing was to think about Santa Claus-based horror movie. As seen here: Kringler 3
This is inspired by that lovely short film (series) and I must also note that I have since discovered that there is some kind of swedish or danish treat also named Kringler. I won't ever eat one though. It can't be anything but evil.
Adam, your weapon for tomorrow shall be.... SPACE AND TIME!!! MWAHAHAHA!!
